cecytebc Inaugural Class 2011

On July 7, 2011, 34 students from La Misión graduated as the inaugural class of the Colegio de Estudios Cientificos y Technologicos del Estado de Baja California (cecytebc), extension La Misión.  Fifteen of the 35 students graduating were students sponsored by BECA.  The BECA Committee wishes to congratulate our students and wishes them all the greatest good fortune in their future.

‘Ecucación para la vida y el trabajo’

The ceremony was held at Eve’s Garden in La Misión, Baja California, Mexico. Of the 76 students who began their classes in 2008, 34 youngsters graduated. The ceremony began with a rousing welcome from the Ensenada High School Drum and Bugle Corps. The graduates dressed in their traditional caps and gowns, filed in and took their seats.

Director, Jesus Arellano presided over the day’s activities. He congratulated all of the graduates on their hard work, perseverance and desire to be prepared for the demands that the working world will present them. Teresa Zavala, who plays a major role in the selection of BECA students, thanked the parents for supporting their children’s endeavors and wished the students good luck in their future. She also recognized Maricela Daniels, Marty Mercado, and Anna Abrego for their tireless efforts to support and encourage the BECA students.

Each graduating student was called to receive their diploma. It is tradition that the student’s sponsors accompany each graduate as they receive their diplomas. Sponsors may be relatives or friends of the family who lend their support financially and psychologically throughout the student’s educational journey.

Applause resounded from the audience as the students tossed their hats in the air, hugged each other, their parents and sponsors.

May their future be as bright and promising as the events of the day.
